CIMP STUDENTS - EUCLID MATH COMPETITION 2008
Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Waterloo is regarded as one of the top universities in the world for mathematics and computer science, and the Euclid competition is designed to provide students with an opportunity to develop their mathematical and problem solving abilities.
This year, Sunway University College is proud to announce that our CIMP students have come up tops again; 16 of our CIMP students wrote the test and 5 finished in the top 25%, whilst Liu Yuan Ziu finished in the top 2% bracket. A total of 16000 mathematics students from around the world wrote the test this year.
Yuan Ziu, who graduated from our CIMP this June 2008, will be pursuing Engineering at Monash University Sunway campus. Yuan Ziu says, "For the good results, i wish to thank Mr. Varga, who is my geometry lecture in CIMP... studying math is not just learning, rather, you should try to be familiar with what it is exactly... You should try to understand more about what (problem) it is".
